Head&Heart comprises of Gil Rosen, its Managing Partner, and a collection of venture partners and industry experts who source deal flow, and provide ongoing support for its portfolio companies.

Head&Heart invests in ambitious and authentic entrepreneurs through a combination of Gil's private capital and SPV’s. As such Head&Heart’s story is deeply intertwined with Gil’s personal story.

Gil’s Story

Born and raised in the NYC hustle, Gil's first foray into venture was scalping tickets for Shakespeare in the Park; paying friends as line holders for Chekov's "The Seagull" and selling tickets on Ebay. A musician turned electrical engineer at UCLA, Gil worked as an IC designer for International Rectifier while founding Blur Events, an LA-based event production company.

Gil combined technical automation and user empathy to build an effective guerilla marketing engine and achieved early success. Throughout his career, this combination of engineer and musician - of the technical/analytical and emotional/empathetic - has underpinned Gil's approach to problem solving and to life.

While at data behemoth Informatica in NY and London, Gil coordinated between business and engineering teams to build relevant information systems with concrete business impact at myriads of customers including Merril Lynch, Mass Mutual, EMI Music Publishing, and Virgin Media. Gil parlayed this experience to found Eccella, a data and analytics company with offices in NY, London, and Mumbai.

Eccella optimized large organizations' operations and provided critical strategic insight through data for the likes of Bausch&Lomb, Nestle, United Health, Veteran Affairs, Lexis Nexis, and the IRS among others. Eccella's core combined a powerful work culture with technical excellence rooted in employee and customer empathy, winning Eccella a spot on Forbes SMB top 50 places to work and growing the team to 100.

Gil's passion for impact led him to a sabbatical as a Sloane Fellow at Stanford's Graduate School of Business; focusing on venture, impact, and strategy. After managing Eccella's acquisition by NGDATA, a machine learning digital marketing platform, Gil ran NGDATA's sales and strategy until his departure to start Head&Heart Capital.

At Head&Heart, Gil leverages his broad network across industry, venture, and academia to invest in and support impact focused ventures.

Gil also volunteers at covidactnow.org, where he built a customizable SEIR model, the Covid Response Simulator, currently being utilized by state and municipal health departments as well as the US National Guard.
